Sunshine, beaches, Disneyland....well of course Im talking about California! We took a fun little trip down to the golden state for the weekend to visit some fam. On our mini adventure we found out a few things...
Darby likes looking at planes more than flying on them.
She loves the freedom of running around Disneyland as opposed to the tortureous restraint of the stroller.
We found out the lines for the 'kiddie rides' took longer than the 'grown-up' types which resulted in too much extra time for the paparazzi frenzy, also known as my Dad!
We found out Darby hearts A Small World, but not Pirates of the Caribbean.
And apparently I loved the Merry Go Round more than anyone.
We found out that Daddy has been replaced as Darby's favorite person by cousin Brooke!
One 'bummer-discovery,' if you will, was that Darby is super freaked out at the sight/feel/smell, etc, etc, of sand! I guess we will be frequenting the local beaches to break this ridiculous fear over the summer.
After the horror caused by Mommy with the sand and the ocean and whatnot, she demanded to be returned safely to the arms of her Daddy.
After said horror, sometimes we all just need a good cuddle and snuggle in bed to calm our nerves.
But most of all we remembered how much we heart CA and had such a stellar time with the fam.

Haaaayyyyy! You guys had a great time! That's probably the best place to go to buck out of this weather! I love Darby's Fancy Nancy pigtails. You guys look like you had a bah-last :)
And we'll need to have a date at Golden Gardens soon, so Darby can get over herself ;)
Wow...to cute. I love the pigtails too. Looks like you had so much fun. Conner was not a fan of the grass at first...but got over it. I found it so cute. Hope you can get some good weather in WA...it was 83 today ;) but this summer the heat to much to handle. Talk to ya soon.
Thanks for the comment on my blog! Glad you guys had a great time in CA. Alex did ok on the plane except at the end when we were descending and he would not drink/eat anything so his ears started hurting. Other than that he was a little wiggly worm, trying everything on the plane from the window, tray, the guy's head in front of us, the chair, at one point he pushed me off the seat so he can sit like a big boy :) fun times...
I'm jealous of your fun get away! Looks like Darby was a trooper through all your adventures. Welcome back to rainy and cold Washington:(
First-don't you just LOVE California? If we could live by the beach and not have to deal with the traffic, we'd move there! But that's never going to happen so we just visit :) Looks like you guys had a blast!! What is it about kids and water/sand/grass? Every kid hates one of those!
Secondly-YES we have AC! BUT when it's 105 outside the coldest it can really get is about 74, which feels like 89! AND the rates TRIPLE starting in April-so our bill for April with us keeping it at 70 was $275....yeah....most people we know keep their thermostat at 78 and run the ceiling fans. I DIE when I'm in their houses! But we have no ceiling fans here so we're super excited to move to our new house and put a fan in EVERY dang room! So sorry this comment is so long but I had to explain-we have ac but it still is stinking hot! Heaven bless the Chillow :)
Oh how fun! I'm jealous of your little trip! ;) It sounds like you had a great time though. And that picture of Darby *freaking out* over the sand just cracked me up. I even made Joel look at it. :D So funny!
