History Baby!

All I can say is that I am so excited about the possibilities. How amazing to witness such an historic day! My daughter will grow up in a country where race, gender, and religion are no longer differences that are used as hindrances, but qualities that are embraced! She won't even look at people of differing race as different, but as human. As people. She won't even see a difference. Racism will die with the racists. These new generations will embrace differences. Again, I am SO excited about the possibilities!

This is basically how I feel :

'Yes We Can!' I'm ready for change....are you??
Can you tell I'm excited??

Two Days in a Row of Mariners Games

We went to two Mariners games in a row this week! My Dad gave us tickets he wasn't able to use for the Sunday afternoon game, and we met some friends at Monday nights game. We took Darby both times! We are so brave...! But actually she did pretty good! Sunday our tickets were in the Hit it Here Cafe, which she liked because it was quiet and she got to sit and look out the window the whole time. Monday night we got cheap seats and just stood in the beer garden the whole game! My little 18 pounder was starting to feel like a 50 pounder by the end of the game! But we had such a blast! The M's won both games....and Monday night was the exciting one with a walk off homerun by Adrian Beltre in the bottom of the 11th inning! That's right...11th! And don't worry about Darby hanging out in the beer garden, suprisingly there were other babies, some even younger than Darby, hanging in their slings and baby carriers, too!
Hit it Here Cafe on Sunday (I only have one picture from this game)

Having too much fun!

Darby now sits up by all by herself! And she rolls around like crazy. She is no longer the stationary little baby anymore. I have to be very careful about where I set her down now. Time for a pack n'play!
Here is some sitting up modeling for all the Darby fans out there

Darby and Mommy have too much fun at home! After a bath we tried the Mohawk look shooting Darby up into rock star status

Darby is now a pro at her 'high chair for the house that's too small for a high chair' chair. She loves it and so does mommy. It gives me the freedom I so desire while Darby chills out and plays. Also, Darby has started solids! So far it has only been three days, so we are still on yams. She is a yam fan!

Appendicitis!!

My sweet little sister had to go to Swedish in the middle of the night last night because her side was hurting really bad. Ended up being appendicitis! She had an appendectomy today and everything is fine now. She was mainly upset about possibly missing Burning Man because of this inconvenience! How dare her appendix act up at such a time! She was looking lovely despite the circumstances...

We are so glad you are better Steffie!!

So onto other news...
Dave was re-tiling the shower this weekend, so that meant Darby and I ran away to my parents house. They are blessed with both showers AND air conditioning! (It was HOT this weekend!) We had so much fun!

Grandpa made a hat out of her washcloth!

Beautiful!

Nap time with Great Grandma

Thanks for saving us from a bathroom-less weekend mom and dad!!

Happy Happy Birthday!

Today is Dave's 28th birthday! Wow....talk about getting old! :)
Darby and I had fun making cupcakes and homemade birthday cards for our favorite boy.

We took Dave to The Rock for dinner. Yum yum! Darby did great!

This weekend was also Josie's birthday party! Ahhh, to be 21 again...
Darby did not do so great on this day. It was quite the fiasco of crying and screaming. In defense of my screaming baby, she did get her 6 month shots the day before. But here is proof she didnt cry the whole time.
Here she is with cousin Josie. Josie likes to try various poses ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE AND JOSIE!

Random!

This is going to be such a random post!

Let's see...what is new? I finished Twilight and now Im a little addicted.
I bought New Moon yesterday and started it last night.

Loving it! Isn't weird how a book about teenage vampires (well actually 100 something yr old vampires) can be so good? What will happen next with Edward and Bella?? Shhh don't tell me! ;)

Darby is getting bigger and better everyday! Here's a random selection of pics from the past week, hence the title of this post.

I could pass for a scary vampire in this pic....pale skin, scary vampire teeth..eeek!

PS
Darby will be 6 months old on August 6th!! And Dave will be 28 (GASP) on August 11th!! Wowsers!
OH and I swear I will get to that tag Megan!! I promise :)
