Bellevue Botanical Garden

The weather was beautiful today. My little date Darby and I are trying to get out and have some fun before the nice sunshine leaves us all behind for the inevitable 9 months of dreariness. Today we hit up the Bellevue Botanical Garden for a picnic and some flower smellin' ;)

First we checked out the flowers and made sure they were smelling wonderful

Next we made the unavoidable stop at the water fountain and splashed in the water

After dragging Darby away from the water fountain (ugh) - we found a nice little spot for a picnic

Helping me pack up the stroller

Bye Bye Bellevue :)

Tomorrow we're trying out a park with a spray fountain to beat the mini heat wave that is supposed to grace us with it's presence. Yay Summer!

Taste of Edmonds

This morning Dave worked a few hours and after he got home we headed to the Taste of Edmonds. It was a beautiful day for some waterfront fun!
PS
I just really want to buy a house with a view in Edmonds. Ahhhh to dream a little dream.

Ready for some grub!

Dave getting a gyro

Chicken gyro (very blurry, my camera skills have been less than stellar)

My blackened salmon salad

They had a really fun area set up for the kids. I had to see if Darby would go on the pony rides. It's a rite of passage, dontcha know. I was so surprised when she laughed and clapped the whole time! I thought for sure as soon as I plopped her down on that saddle she would scream. But alas, she is just growing up or something.

Meeting Mr Pony

Giddy up!

Ohhhh how we heart Edmonds :)

Remember to Laugh

We've been going through some boo-hoo type things as of late....but we are remembering to laugh and smile! We are so blessed to have a crazy, wacky, fun loving little girl who never fails in making us crack a bit of a grin these days :)

I haven't blogged in awhile...so since last time we've had some birthdays -Darby turned 1 and a half! My cousin Josie turned 22, and Dave turned....29!!! We love teasing him about being sooo close to 30 ;)

Here's Darby with 1 and a half candles

Josie's Bday

Two days of rainbow chip cake and frosting in one week?! Darby was in sugar coma heaven.

We've been playing and trying to have some fun the last few days...here is proof!

Her favorite place to sit...don't mind the fingerprints, or the mindless wasting of energy

Blanket capes are all the rage

Looking sweet and innocent one minute...

And quite possessed the next!

Hiding

Found!

Current fav's are tortillas and yogurt ;)

Lots of reasons to smile :)

Spin Dancing

It's all the rage don't ya know. I caught Darby 'Spin Dancing' to some Matt White. It's becoming her new favorite dance. Dizziness and all.

Favorites

Tagged again!
The dazzling entertainment-ish favorites of, ahem, moi, are as follows -

Sappy/Romantic Movie

I know there are TONS of sappy romantic movies out there, but this one just makes me squeal every time I run across it randomly on TV. What can be better than a super sweet, trench coat wearing, kick boxing, lives with his sister and is named Lloyd Dobler kinda guy?!? Nothing is better I say! And let's just say if Dave stood outside my window blaring Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes I just might have married him sooner. Yup.

Non-Sappy/Romantic Movies

This movie is hilarious! I can watch it over and over again! 'Damn! We're in a tight spot!' Plus the soundtrack is ah-may-zing!

I think I single handedly wore out the copy of this movie at Hollywood Video in Bremerton when I was in high school. Finally, I got it for Christmas (on VHS mind you) sometime during my HS years. And yes, I have it on DVD now, don't worry ;)

Can't Stop Listening To

Everyone who knows me will know this answer. It's too obvious. But still...oh, and there will be more than one, so make yourself comfortable ;) HA!

-Dave Matthews Band

Duh. I have been officially obsessed with this band since sometime circuit 1996/1997. I have seen either Dave solo or Dave and the band 11 times (compared to most Dave Heads this is nothing) and plan on seeing them/him many many more times. It's a sickness, really....

-Jack Johnson

The folk singing king always makes me feel all happy and sappy inside. Sappy memory- saw him in concert in Seattle with my lil sis before he became a huge sensation. No seats, not crowded, just standing around and listening to Jack Johnson. Stef and I got in a fight for some lame teeny bopper reason at this show, but then reconciled a few minutes later. Awww memories ;)

-James Taylor

I grew up listening to JT. I swear almost every song might bring a small tear to my eye if Im in the right mood. He's just the best. And my first ever concert! I went with my little family to see him at the Gorge when I was just a wee little person. My sister might even name her future child Taylor James, in honor ;) Also, the only song that would get Darby to sleep when she was a newborn was Sweet Baby James. Love it.

TV Land

Best show ever! It's soooo old now, and I've seen every episode a ba-jillion (that's right) times, but seriously, Seinfeld is the best. It's on every night at our house at 10pm on The CW (ha). Or it's on any other time of day via DVD. The bloopers are the funniest. Not that there's anything wrong with that. And to think they are reuniting on Curb Your Enthusiasm and I don't have HBO!! Or cable!! Gasp!
Seinfeld will always have my heart, but the two other top favorites in TV land, and that are actually current, are

and

OH! And don't let me forget my guilty pleasure...

Ok so that tag was fun! I won't tag (aka bug) you this time people...but anyone who wants to post their fav's of the entertainment world can get to it.
